Amazing video: Daredevil motorcyclist jumps 96 feet up onto Vegas casino
Friday, 2 January 2009
An Australian motorcycle daredevil has successfully jumped 96 feet up onto the Arc de Triomphe in front of the Paris Las Vegas casino in a spectacular New Year's Eve stunt.
The stunt was equivalent to jumping on a 10-storey apartment building.
After making the jump, Robbie Madison free-fell over 50 feet before hitting the ramp to end the jump, damaging his left hand in the process.
"It's definitely a milestone in my life to overcome the fear I had," a Maddison, whose left hand was dripping with blood, said.
"My hand kills. I think I might have broken it."
On New Year's Eve last year Maddison broke the world motorcycle jumping record by traveling 322 feet 7.5 inches (98.34 meters) on a motorbike. He performed the stunt on the 40th anniversary of Evel Knievel jumping the fountains at Caesars Palace.
Madison said that he plans to do something bigger next year.
