Archbishop Tutu home after week-long stay in hospital
Retired archbishop Desmond Tutu has returned home after a week-long stay in hospital in Cape Town.
The Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation said Tutu returned home yesterday wearing a dressing gown embroidered with the words 'Feet Up Arch' and is now under doctors' orders to rest.
It added the Tutu family had thanked doctors for their work and the public for their support.
The 83-year-old Nobel laureate was admitted to hospital last week where he received treatment for a "stubborn infection".
An earlier statement said he was treated with a course of intensive antibiotics administered intravenously.
