Fighting continues in mountains near Beirut

Fighting is continuing in Lebanon today amid fears that the country is sliding back towards civil war.
Hezbollah fighters have been battling government supporters in the mountains overlooking Beirut and have seized control of the Aley region, a stronghold of Druze leader Walid Jumblatt.
The Shi'ite militant group also seized control of vast swathes of west Beirut last week, but left the city over the weekend following calls from the army, which has remained neutral.
At least 38 people have been killed in the violence since Wednesday, which comes amid an ongoing power struggle between the Hezbollah-led opposition and the US-backed Government.
