At least 28 killed in Kabul suicide bombing

Monday, 7 July 2008

A suicide car bomber has killed at least 28 people after blowing himself up outside the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan's capital today.

More than 140 others were also injured in the massive explosion outside the Kabul facility, where dozens of Afghans queue every morning to apply for visas.

Today's attack happened while two diplomatic vehicles were entering the embassy.

Meanwhile, seven Afghan police officers were also killed this morning in separate bomb attacks on police convoys in the south of the country.
