Baby boy dies after NY shooting

A one-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head in New York City.

Police said Antiq Hennis was being pushed by his mother and father in his pushchair while crossing a street in the Brownsville neighbourhood of Brooklyn at about 7.20pm on Sunday when the shooting happened. They say multiple shots were fired.

The child was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face, but did not survive his injuries.

Police have not made any arrests or released any other preliminary details from their investigation.
