The Bangkok Post reports the man (50) was found floating face down in the sea about 1km offshore from the holiday island.

Authorities say he had drowned and had no injuries on his body.

A postmortem is due to take place and relatives will be informed.

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs has said it is aware of the reports, and is in contact with the consulate.
