British man dies on holiday island
A British tourist has died on holiday in Ibiza, officials have said.
Christopher Barrington, 31, reportedly drowned in a hotel pool in San Antonio, on the Spanish island on Tuesday.
The circumstances surrounding his death are not yet clear, and police in Spain are investigating.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: "We can confirm the death of a British national in San Antonio, Ibiza, on Tuesday August 9.
"We are offering consular assistance to the family."
His death follows those of several other young Britons on the holiday island this summer:
Barry Hesford, 21, from Glasgow, is believed to have drowned in the pool of a hotel in San Antonio on August 1;
Samuel McCaughey, in his early 20s, fell from the balcony of a third-floor flat in the same resort on July 29;
Jodie Nieman, 20, from Croydon, south London, suffered a heart attack on July 13 after a night at the Space nightclub in the Playa d'en Bossa resort.
The Spanish party island draws crowds of young Britons every year who come to enjoy its famous nightlife and beaches.
