Brooklyn sinkhole: massive hole swallows New York intersection

A massive sinkhole has opened up in Brooklyn, New York.

Pictures show a gaping hole that swallowed an intersection in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park.

The crater appeared shortly after 7am local time on Tuesday.

It is unclear what caused the road to collapse but New York City Fire Department (FDNY) said that construction was occurring at the site.

No injuries were reported.
