The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have touched down in Saudi Arabia, on the third leg of their Middle Eastern tour.

Camilla, who was draped in a turquoise scarf, made her way with Charles along the red carpet from their jet where they were greeted by Prince Khalid bin Bandar, the governor of Riyadh.

They were welcomed past a guard of honour at the former airport of the Saudi capital, into a luxurious hall coated in gold trim and with vast chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

As they posed for pictures seated on gold coloured chairs, with the paintings of late Saudi kings hanging above them, the royal couple sipped traditional cardamom coffee.

They were then whisked away to a garden party for British ex-pats, where Camilla was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the daughter of a member of staff from the British Embassy.

The Prince will then go on to dine with Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Duchess will be hosted by a group of Saudi princesses and influential women.
