Chris Brown sentenced for assaulting Rihanna
Singer Chris Brown has been sentenced to five years probation and ordered to complete 180 days of community service for his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
In June, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault after attacking the singer last February in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, following a pre-Grammy Awards party.
Brown will carry out his community service in Virginia and and must complete an anti-domestic violence programme in Los Angeles.
Rihanna recently lodged an appeal for the restraining order against her ex-boyfriend to be removed.
But LA County Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg ordered him to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna (21) for the next five years.
