Hillary Clinton is to give evidence next week about the deadly September 11 assault on the US mission in Libya.
The US Secretary of State will appear before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on January 23, according to Representative Ed Royce, chairman of the panel.
He said in a statement that Mrs Clinton will answer questions about the raid that killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi.
She had been scheduled to give evidence last month but she suffered concussion when she fell during an illness, and she was later hospitalised.
Mrs Clinton plans to step down and President Barack Obama has nominated Senator John Kerry to replace her.
