The cabin of a Spanish military helicopter that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean has been found, but the three crew members remain missing.

The country's defence minister said work to hoist the aircraft to the surface will begin on Thursday, depending on weather conditions.

The helicopter ditched last Thursday about 320 miles from its destination on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, having set off from Mauritania.

Initially, the ministry wrongly reported that the crew had been rescued.
