A prowler at Tom Cruise's house was hit by a stun gun fired by a security guard - but he turned out to be a drunk neighbour who may have entered the property by mistake.
The incident occurred at Cruise's Beverly Hills home in Los Angeles on Sunday night, when the actor and his family were out.
The guard saw a man "climbing a fence to gain access to the property" and he used the stun gun to detain him for police. The man was identified as a 41-year-old neighbour who lives in an adjacent property, and was intoxicated at the time.
He was taken into custody over trespassing and treated at a hospital for any problems resulting from the stun gun.
