Drink blamed as three die in sauna

Three German men found dead in a sauna had been drinking earlier at a Christmas party.

Three German men have died after drinking heavily at a Christmas party and apparently passing out in a sauna.

The metal workers, aged between 36 and 48, were found dead in the sauna at the oldest man's home in the western town of Ennepetal.

Tests have determined the men's blood-alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit to drive.

Prosecutors in Hagen said today they believe the three men passed out in the sauna and then died of heart failure an undetermined time later. They say there is no evidence of foul play.
