Irish rugby fans have been read the riot act in New Zealand for being unable to hold their drink.
Up to 30 people were refused entry to watch Ireland’s match against hosts New Zealand on Saturday, when a further 16 people were thrown out of the Christchurch stadium for drunken antics.
Five people were arrested during the match, including a female streaker who bared it all on the pitch at half-time.
Christchurch Senior Sergeant Scott Banfield said: “I’m not picking on the Irish but a lot of the people that were ejected and removed and caused some problems were wearing green and gold.
"So one can assume they were supporting the Irish. I think they just have to understand, if they’re in Rome, do as the Romans do. We don’t drink to a point where we fall over so much in our country.
"There was pretty poor behaviour out there,” reported the Sun.
