Father sues in 'no fast food' row

A New York father is suing a psychologist in a row over a planned McDonald's trip with his young son

A New York father is suing a psychologist who he says called him an inept parent because he refused to take his son to McDonald's and let the child go without dinner when he wouldn't eat elsewhere.

David E. Schorr filed a defamation suit against psychologist Marilyn Schiller.

Mr Schorr's suit says he offered to take his nearly five-year-old son anywhere but McDonald's for the meal. He says the angry boy chose no dinner instead.

Mr Schorr says he then took the boy home early to his mother's apartment. He and his estranged wife are undergoing a contentious divorce.

He says the episode prompted Ms Schiller to tell a judge he was incapable of caring for his son.

Ms Schiller was not immediately available for comment.
