A massive fire engulfed a Russian nuclear submarine in an Arctic shipyard yesterday, but there has been no radiation leak or injuries, officials said.
The fire on the Yekaterinburg submarine occurred while it was moored in a dock for repairs at the Roslyakovo shipyard in Murmansk, said Irina Gretskaya, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Ministry.
The fire took hold of the vessel's rubber-coated hull but has now been contained, and there is no danger of it spreading inside.
