Five killed in wrong-way crash near Miami

Five people have died in a wrong-way crash on a trunk road near Miami.

Two other people were injured in the crash on the northbound express lane of the Interstate 95 at about 1am local time.

Trooper Joe Sanchez said a woman in a pick-up truck was travelling southbound in the express lane. Her truck side-swiped one vehicle and hit another head-on. Four adults in a sedan were killed in the crash and the pick-up driver also died.

The conditions of the two people taken to hospital are not known.

All lanes of northbound I-95 have been shut while the crash is investigated.

The names of the victims have not been released.
