Five pupils were killed when a wall collapsed on them at school, a uthorities in an eastern Chinese province said.

The Anhui Administration of Work Safety said the wall fell on the girls as they gathered on the sidelines of a basketball game at Tongren Middle School in the city of Huaibei. Another student was injured.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
