Foreign firefighters join battle against Greek wildfires
Foreign firefighters and aircraft have today joined the battle against a series of wildfires that have killed at least 64 people in Greece over the past few days.
Dozens of fires have broken out in many parts of the country, burning through forest and farmland and cutting off entire villages.
The worst were concentrated in the mountains of the Peloponnese in the south and on the island of Evia north of Athens.
The authorities say they hope most of the blazes can be brought under partial control in the coming days, but high winds and temperatures mean the risk of further fires continues.
