Girl 'seen searching bins for food'

A US woman has been arrested after a young girl was found naked and eating from rubbish bins in California
enlargeSheriff's officials in Temecula, California, said when police responded to an emergency call on Thursday, they found the girl in a car where she was allegedly left by her 40-year-old mother, who was later arrested.
Witness Dominique Prado told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that she and her husband were in their garden when they saw the girl rooting through a bin.
The girl was then found in a BMW with tinted windows around the corner from the Prados' home.
Ms Prado says the girl was struggling to cover herself with a floor mat from the vehicle. She gave her an apple, some other food and a bottle of water.
The girl is now in protective custody and was given medical care at a nearby hospital for unspecified ailments.
