Hillary team gets ready protest

The Democratic National Committee's rules and bylaws committee is bracing for a potentially huge protest by Hillary Clinton supporters when it meets on Saturday to decide whether or not to reinstate delegate privileges to the wayward states of Florida and Michigan.

The DNC revoked the two states' delegate allotments for August's national convention in Denver after they defied DNC prohibitions against moving their primaries into January.

Clinton, who has virtually no chance of erasing Barack Obama's delegate lead before the primary season ends next Tuesday, needs the DNC to legitimize both states' vote tallies in order to keep her long-shot White House bid alive.

Obama currently leads Clinton in pledged delegates, superdelegates, and the nationwide Democratic popular vote.

According to RealClearPolitics.com, if the popular vote from Florida and Michigan were factored in, Clinton would lead by a margin of 164,654 votes.

Obama received no votes from Michigan because he had taken his name off the ballot. However, votes marked "uncommitted" in Michigan, which the Clinton campaign has argued were de facto Obama votes, totalled 238,168.
