Huge blaze at Shell chemical plant

A major fire has broken out at a chemical plant operated by oil giant Shell near the Netherlands port city of Rotterdam.

The Security Region Central and Western Brabant said tweeted that nobody was missing or injured in the fire.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately known. News reports said people across a wide area reported hearing blasts and could see flames soaring into the night sky.

Firefighters were using foam to fight the flames.
