A statement said Tordil, from Adelphi, is an employee of the Federal Protective Service, which provides security at federal buildings and properties.
Police said the victim of the shooting at High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland, was 44-year-old Gladys Tordil. A bystander was also wounded.
