Hi °C | Lo °C The Israeli army has killed two Palestinian militants during a military operation in the West Bank city of Nablus this morning.
Israel says the operation was mounted to arrest several suspected militants.
Israeli media reports say a leading member of Islamic Jihad and another man barricaded themselves in an apartment during the raid and were shot dead during an ensuing exchange of gunfire.
Witnesses, however, say the Israeli soldiers stormed the apartment and deliberately shot the two men dead.
No casualties were reported among the Israeli soldiers.
