Jet pilot's body recovered in Gulf

The body of an F-16 fighter jet pilot has been found after the aircraft crashed in the Gulf of Mexico .

Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida said rescue efforts would now shift to collecting evidence to determine the cause of the accident.

The base said it was not identifying the pilot while next of kin was being informed.

The US Airr Force said the jet was on a routine training mission over the Gulf yesterday morning when the base in the Florida Panhandle lost contact with the pilot.
