Kirchner 'in good spirits' after op
Argentina president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is in good spirits after successful surgery to remove fluid from the surface of her brain, her spokesman said.
Ms Fernandez is recovering in her hospital room in Buenos Aires and has thanked her doctors as well as supporters gathered outside who have been praying for her, Alfredo Scoccimarro said.
He said "the operation went very well" and that the next announcement about her health will come on Wednesday.
Hospital doctors report that the president's condition is "evolving favourably" after they removed a clot pressuring the right side of her brain.
