Shia LaBeouf needed stitches in his head and hand after injuring himself on the North Dakota set of the film American Honey.

The accident happened during a scene in which LaBeouf was to put his head through a glass window.

A publicist for LaBeouf said the actor's injuries were "minimal".

He was treated in hospital for cuts to his head and hand and is due to return to shooting tomorrow.

American Honey is about a teenage girl travelling across the Midwest. It was written and directed by Fish Tank film-maker Andrea Arnold.
