Las Vegas driver ploughs into pedestrians at Miss Universe pageant killing one and injuring dozens
One person has been killed and at least 36 injured after a car deliberately swerved into pedestrians a number of times in Las Vegas, close to the venue hosting the Miss Universe beauty pageant.
Las Vegas police said that while they believed the incident to be deliberate, they ruled out terrorism.
Among those injured were children and several people remain in a critical condition in hospital after the attack.
Part of the famous Las Vegas strip was closed off while causalities received treatment and police investigated the scene.
Reports have said the car, driven by a woman and with a young child inside, drove into a group of pedestrians at least two or three times.
The woman driver was able to flee the scene and has since been arrested. Police said they expected her to be charged.
The incident happened close to the Planet Hollywood Hotel, which was hosting the annual Miss Universe pageant.
