Lohan's mum on drink-drive charge
Actress Lindsay Lohan's mother is facing a drink-driving charge in New York after being stopped on Long Island.
State police said Dina Lohan, 50, was stopped on Nassau County's Northern State Parkway at 11pm on Thursday after troopers clocked her driving a BMW at 77mph in a 55mph zone.
Police in Farmingdale said she had a blood alcohol concentration at 0.20% - more than twice the legal limit in New York.
Ms Lohan was booked, issued tickets and then released. She will appear in court on September 24.
Her lawyer, Mark Heller, said she "appreciates the grave seriousness" of the situation, but since she has no prior record, she will probably be treated "with even-handed fairness" by the courts.
The traffic stop happened about 25 miles east of New York City and about nine miles from Ms Lohan's home in Merrick.
Her daughter, Mean Girls star Lindsay, 27, has a history of partying and brushes with the law. Last month she vowed to stay "present and clear-headed and focused" after completing her sixth stint in rehab.
