Mel Gibson working on Passion of the Christ sequel, writer says
Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace says he is working with actor Mel Gibson on a follow-up to The Passion of the Christ.
Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday that the new film will focus on the resurrection of Jesus.
Gibson's spokesman declined to comment on the actor-director's involvement in the project.
The Passion was directed by Gibson and released in 2004. The film starred Jim Caviezel as Jesus and earned $612 million (£423 million) at the worldwide box office, making it the most successful independent film ever.
Wallace recently worked with Gibson on the World War Two drama Hacksaw Ridge.
