Obama. Yes he did.
John McCain is an old man of over 73 years who by his own admisson has not got the technical ability to send an email. If he died in office the young gun toating Christian woman, would then be President. Bush and the Republician Party have wrecked the whole world ecomony thanks to his three trillion $ war in Iraq while people in America are losing their jobs and homes. Why would you replace Bush with his side kick. Mind you many will find it hard to vote for a black person, that is McCain's only chance. Racism!!! Derek Rollins Melbourne
I voted for the white dude with the hot chick.
keep bush - the man is a comedy legend
McCain will win. On this side of the "Pond" we live in the real world, not a twisted BBC/ITV view of current events. This is not my wish list but a reflection of the reality of life in America.
Besides the Sun will still rise on Nov. 6th
there'll never be a black president thats crazy it'll never happen that would be like ian paisley and martin mc guinness sharing power. ridiculous.
It won't make a difference. In the words of Mos Def - "It was Bush who brought down the towers!
(ref; Mos Def = American Rapper)
Bin laden will be on tv slagging of bush and his party within the next couple of days
This will lead to people changing their minds and voting for McCain
it happened in 04 just days before kerry was leading
and bin laden came on Islamic news this made americans scared and this is what will happen i hope im wrong but i dont think i will be...
Wow, what a strange poll result. I am assuming those who reckon on a McCain victory are neither bookmakers or watch TV!
Given Obama is at best 1-7 to win the election and many in the McCain camp have already started the recrimination process, I am not sure I concur with the majority vote here...
Neither one of these Senators is a leader. Obama, Pelose and Reed are the most dangerous liberal trio in the government. They want to play "Robin Hood" and spread the wealth to all those who already take advantage of the governmental systems of handouts. Get a job. Now in McCains case, if I was Iran, I'd be very careful since he has no respect for the useless UN and those political croonies who are always looking for some kind of handout. Put the UN in Iran and see how effective it becomes then. Besides, if he croaks, they will have a hot babe running the country.
I think Barack Obama would be the best choice for President
of the USA, because he has a different idea on leadership.
The rest of those who ran for office, use any slur to attack their
opponents,or use the old cry of what they done during their
military service in the good old days.
If you want eight more years of economic disaster then vote mccain, he supported the bush economic policies and still does. Bush attacked iraq after 911 mccain still agrees with the war. The world trade terrorists were from saudi arabia, not iraq and no proof of weapons of mass destruction were found. The war has resulted in over 4000 deaths of US soldiers and soldiers from many other countries, not to mention the tens of thousands of innocent iraqs who have been killed of have fled their country. Bush had a personal plan for this country which had nothing to do with the will of its people, nor had he commonsense to build good relations with foreign powers. He is a war monger and a round the world bully. Not much wonder we have more enemies now than ever before. That, and trillions of dollars in the red.
Ummmm Sean? Helloooooooo. You do realise this poll is on the Internet. You know...the WORLD WIDE WEB! It isn't just people in Ulster voting in it. Have some sense and please refrain from spurting your load of nonsense all over this forum.
Oh yeah and the same goes for that other poster - 'Dreamonic'.
I can't believe what I see: 49% for McCain!
Ulster must definitely the home of dinosaurs and the founders of the KKK.
Bush has done more harm to the US image abroad and yet 49% of the readers here feel that the Republicans will win.
If Joe the Plumber was a candidate I'd vote for him.
But in the election to see which lunatic runs the nuthouse. I'll put money on John McCain
I would tend to agree with Richard, the military and industrial complex run America, the real ( shadow ) government. These guys are only figureheads, just there to obey the orders of their capitalist and money - grabbing masters.
Only in a Northern Ireland paper will you get clear support for McCain. I'm only too sad that it is not Hillary Clinton facing him, because if it was a head to head on experience she'd win hands down. And I'm not just talking about the experience of having more grey hair. But Obama is what the world needs. The US has an incredible deficit, and now the central bank is trying to prop it all up like ahouse of wet cards. It's perhaps time for a new period of American protectionism and a bit more inward looking instead of finding enemies under every stone in the dessert. Obama will appeal to a world tired of US policing without the statesmanlike leader that Bush has been the antithesis of. Another four years of Republicans in the White House would be just too much. Please God lend the Americans a titter of wit on this one!
Bush has been a very bad president indeed, but for the absolute worst, I would nominate that famous Ulsterman, James Buchanan.
The underlying fact which Americans won't admit or most of them anyway is that they are not ready for a coloured president! Middle America is where the presidency is decided and previous voting for past presidents from this area/group has always favoured "white anglo-saxon protestants!"
I just can't see the above situation changing but I do hope the best man wins for all our sakes!
Obama may lack experience, but like many nations, apart from his own opinions, he will be directed and advised by others. America could do with a breath of fresh air. coulden't we all!..William.
