Obama still ahead in polls as US election looms

Democratic candidate Barack Obama appears to be maintaining his advantage with just one day left before the US presidential election.
Various opinion polls give the Illinois Senator an average six-point advantage over Republican candidate John McCain.
However, McCain is insisting that his campaign still has momentum and could still pull off a shock victory.
Volunteers from both sides are mounting a final push for votes in the swing states which will be crucial to tomorrow's vote.
