A Philadelphia professor says she was "mortified" when she discovered that she inadvertently sent students a link to a porn site instead of an article about writing legal briefs.

In an opinion piece in The Washington Post, Lisa McElroy, who teaches legal writing and teaching methods at Drexel University's law school, said she cared deeply about her students and university and about being a role model for her adolescent daughters.

But she called the incident "pretty trivial" and attacked "tabloid journalists" who ran the story.

She said there were worse things than humiliation, including "the willingness - even the desire - to bring others down to lift yourself up".
