One killed, many hurt in 'accidental' grenade blast at Russian school
At least one person has died and 11 were injured in a live grenade accident at a high school in the Russian republic of Dagestan.
The police said they detained a teenager who brought the grenade to school in the rural area in Russia's North Caucasus.
At least three teenagers are in intensive care.
Police in Dagestan called the blast an accident, but the circumstances are not immediately clear.
Following two separatist wars in neighbouring Chechnya, an Islamic insurgency spread to Dagestan where shoot-outs between the militants and police are almost routine occurrences and the illegal ownership of weapons is high.
