Palestinian killed in West Bank clash with Israeli soldiers

A 22-year-old Palestinian was killed and four others were wounded in clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said Eyad Sajadiyeh was shot in the head.

The Israeli military said troops entered the Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, early on Tuesday to retrieve two soldiers who had lost their way and came under attack.

It says their Jeep was pelted with rocks and firebombs and the soldiers had to flee after it caught fire.

They were later rescued. Five Israeli soldiers were wounded in the violence.

It is the latest in five months of near-daily Palestinian attacks that have killed 28 Israelis. At least 167 Palestinians have been killed, most of them said by Israel to have been attackers.
