Peru coast rattled by earthquake

A magnitude 6.8 earthquake has struck off the Pacific coast of south-western Peru, geologists said.

There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The US Geological Survey said it struck 87 miles south-west of Nazca at 11.43am local time (1643 GMT) at a depth of 21 miles.

The quake was mildly felt in Lima, 310 miles from its epicentre.
