Pit bull dog chewed off baby's toes as mother slept
A woman who slept as a pit bull dog chewed the toes off her four-month-old baby's left foot will face charges.
Robie Lynn Jenkins, and her boyfriend, Tremayne Spillman, would be charged with felony child abuse, the Onslow County sheriff's office said.
Deputies say the couple were dog-sitting the one-year-old pit bull for a friend who had been arrested on gun charges.
Officials in Jacksonville, North Carolina say Jenkins told investigators she was on medication and did not hear the child crying as the two slept in the same room last night.
She said she did not notice the injury until she changed the baby's nappy yesterday morning.
