Police raids in LA fashion district

US agents have raided dozens of businesses in the fashion district of Los Angeles as part of an investigation into suspected money laundering done for Mexican drug cartels.

Several arrests have been made, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement.

Hundreds of federal and local law enforcement agents fanned out across central Los Angeles in the sweep targeting about 70 locations.

The agency declined to provide further details before a press conference later with federal prosecutors.
