Putin 'cancels Ukraine force move'

President Vladimir Putin has asked Moscow's parliament to cancel a resolution which sanctions the use of military force in Ukraine, according to Russian news reports.

The president's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told news agencies that Mr Putin had written to the head of parliament's upper house asking that a March 1 request authorising the use of force in neighbouring Ukraine be withdrawn.
