Quake hits northern California

The US Geological Survey reports that a magnitude-5.5 quake struck about 18 miles east of Trinidad in a rural, area of Humboldt County.
Police said the quake was was widely felt and the shaking lasted 30 to 45 seconds.
The department says there were no immediate reports of injury or damage.
