Real Madrid donate 1m euro to refugees

Real Madrid football club are donating one million euro (£730,000) to help refugees "taken in by Spain".

The 10-time European champions said they made the decision "with the aim of supporting men, women and children who have been forced to leave their homes in order to flee from war and death".

The Spanish giants are also considering other measures to help the "youngest" refugees.

Tens of thousands of migrants have arrived in Europe recently, many fleeing the war in Syria.
