A roadside bomb explosion near a mobile phone shop in a busy commercial area
of central Baghdad killed at least five people and wounded 17 today, police
said.
The bomb detonated at about 11:15am near Tahrir Square in the centre of the
city, police Lt. Ali Metaab said.
The square is in one of Baghdad's most popular commercial areas, with shops
specialising in electronic goods, photographers' equipment and mobile
telephones. The city's central bus station is also located in the area.
