Two Romanian teenagers injured in a deadly nightclub blaze in Bucharest have died in UK hospitals, bringing the death toll to 50.

Vladut Roberto Andy died on Wednesday, his 19th birthday, his friend Elena Beatrice Gagos confirmed. Media reported he died in a hospital in Chelmsford.

The A D Xenopol high school in Bucharest said on its Facebook page that student Elena Nitu, 18, died in a hospital in Liverpool late on Tuesday.

Both teenagers had been transported by a Nato plane to Britain for treatment for burns sustained in the October 30 fire.

Authorities say that 51 people remain in hospital in a serious or critical condition - 27 in foreign hospitals. Some 36 were flown abroad for treatment in the past week.
