Runaway girl found safe in Turkey

A British teenager who went missing with a waiter while on holiday in Turkey has been found safe and well, her family said.

Faye Jones, 16, was on a break in the resort of Marmaris with her mother Rhonda, from Cramlington, Northumberland, when she vanished with a local man.

Frantic relatives appealed for help in finding her and they set up a Facebook page to publicise the search.

A post on the Help Find Faye Jones site said: "It is with great pleasure that I can say that Faye Jones has been found.

"Police have her but she has not yet been reunited with Rhonda.

"I would like to thank you all for your help and support during this time."

Officers from Northumbria Police had offered support to the family while the Turkish authorities carried out the search after being alerted on Thursday.

Faye, a bright student who was planning to go into the sixth form, was a regular visitor to Marmaris as her grandmother lives there, and was believed to have started a relationship with the local man last year.
