Russian fisherman saved from vicious bear attack by Justin Bieber ringtone
A Russian fisherman was saved from a vicious bear attack thanks to a Justin Bieber ringtone.
The 42-year-old narrowly avoided death after his mobile phone rang to the tune of the Canadian popstar's chart-topping song Baby.
It sent the beast fleeing into the forest, the New York Post reported.
Although the man suffered cuts and bruises to his head and body, he escaped serious injury in the attack thanks to the racket coming from his phone.
Last month 20-year-old singer Justin Bieber was ordered to pay $80,900 (£47,000) in damages and serve two years on probation for throwing eggs at a neighbour's home.
The singer pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor vandalism charge over the incident.
Bieber also was ordered to complete five days of community labour and a 12-week anger management programme, and to stay away from the victim and his family for two years.
The 20-year-old was not present for the hearing in California. A spokeswoman for Bieber said he is glad to have the matter resolved and behind him.
Deputy District Attorney Alan Yochelson called egg-throwing an "extremely immature and a silly act".
