Saudi Arabia hosts terrorism talks
Saudi Arabia has announced plans to host a meeting later this week which will bring together the US and several Middle East countries to discuss terrorism in the region.
The gathering, which will take place on Thursday, aims to address ways to combat the extremist organisations contributing to terrorism in the region, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.
It will include representatives from Gulf Arab nations, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey.
US secretary of state John Kerry is travelling to the kingdom and neighbouring Jordan this week to discuss ways to bolster the stability of the new Iraqi government and combat the Islamic State militant group that has taken over large areas of Iraq and Syria.
