The Greek island of Rhodes has been hit by a strong earthquake this morning.
The tremor struck just before 6.30am local time and was centred beneath the seabed south of the island.
The authorities say one woman died when she slipped and fell while trying to flee her home.
However, the quake caused no major damage.
