Suspected Islamic State fighters arrested in Norway

Two men have been arrested in Norway for suspected links to Islamic State.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday when he returned to Oslo from Turkey, a spokeswoman for Norway's security service PST said. The man is suspected of having been a foreign fighter for IS.

The other suspect is a 31-year-old man who was arrested in Norway early on Friday. He is suspected of having previously been a foreign fighter for IS and was planning to return to the Middle East to rejoin the group.

The spokeswoman said they face charges of preparing to join or participating in a terror organisation, a crime punishable by up to six years in prison. Both are Norwegian citizens.
