Suu Kyi at parliament as politician
Aung San Suu Kyi has attended Burma's parliament for the first time as an elected politician.
The 67-year-old opposition leader took the oath of office in May after winning a historic by-election a month earlier, but the swearing-in ceremony took place only as the last legislative session ended.
Ms Suu Kyi was mobbed by reporters as she walked up a flight of steps into the assembly in the capital, Naypyitaw.
The latest parliament session is expected to see the appointment of a new vice president. Politicians are also expected to take up legislation on topics ranging from press freedom to new foreign investment laws.
Ms Suu Kyi spent much of the past two decades under house arrest during the rule of a brutal military junta.
